As reported on

The reigning world champion says he would like to see a return to the one-lap shootout in the final qualifying session which determines the top 10 on the starting grid. Alonso says the current system is exciting for the first two sessions but that the majority of time spent in the final qualifying period is used to burn off fuel rather than racing for poll.
