As reported on homeofsport

‘If Father Christmas ever delivers Jenson to (us) gift-wrapped,’ the team principal, Sir Frank Williams, told the Guardian newspaper in Britain, ‘I’d be delighted.’

‘There is no doubt in my mind that (he has) the ability. He almost never makes a mistake … and is almost in Michael Schumacher’s class when it comes to sheer all-round talent.’

Triple world champion Niki Lauda, then, does not think Button has what it takes to win the title. ‘My other judgment is that both Fernando Alonso and Kimi Räikkönen are fundamentally quicker than Jenson,’ said the veteran Austrian, who also noted that teammate Rubens Barrichello is now starting to get the upper hand.

They really are desperate arent they? Poor Frank.
And Button, isnt in the league of Fernando or Kimi, much less Schumi.

  2. Neeraj says:

I still believe that Button is the most overrated & overhyped driver. Forget bout putting him in same league as Schumi, Alonso or Kimi. Even Reubens, JPM & DC are far better than him.

I am really unable to understand why is Williams so hell-bent on having him onboard !!

  3. E@zyVG says:

Thouhg it seems that Button is overhyped, I’d still prefer to see Button with Nico in Williams, rather than Webber. When comparing Button to Webber, I think he can easily outperform him.

  4. sukhi says:

Williams want him aboard cos they’re a Brit team. and a Brit driving a Brit car, will bring in sponsorship money – which they need direly – and more than enuf media coverage – which’s again more moolah.

And that would lead to better results. B’cos unlike BAR, Williams generally knows how to use its money.
