Is the R26 the car you need to defend your crown?
Alonso: I think so. We have been competitive in testing and we are ready for the first race, but we will only know what shape we are in after practice. All the drivers will be doing their maximum as soon as they are on the track. There won’t be any Sunday drivers!

Vodafone has fired the man responsible for Formula One sponsorships at Ferrari (2006) and McLaren (2007).

According to the Guardian newspaper, marketing director Peter Bamford was ousted in the midst of a power struggle between the company’s chief executive and chairman.

Will this have any effect on the new deal with McLaren ? I really don’t think so.

Michelin As reported on Reuters

“Although the rules were changed in a bid to reduce costs, it is disappointing to note that a tyre manufacturer such as Michelin will have to carry 38 percent more stock to grands prix this season than it did in 2005,” the company’s Formula One director Nick Shorrock said on Monday.

The high-speed AMG V8 Coupé is excellently equipped for this job. Its new, eight-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, which was developed entirely by AMG, has a displacement of 6.208 litres and develops maximum power of 354 kW at 6800 rpm and maximum torque of 630 Newton metres at 5000 rpm. The power is managed by an AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission with steering-wheel shift paddles. For its Formula 1 role, the CLK 63 AMG gets a new throaty-sounding exhaust system which will go down well with motor sport fans both at the track and in front of the TV screens.
